In addition to Calamityville, what would you do as a member of council to assure that the City of Fairborn is successful in attracting its fair share of BRAC related businesses and also market Fairborn as the place to live for those BRAC related employees?

I plan on working with and supporting our City manager in all of our initiatives that relate to BRAC. This would include lookling into every request for a BRAC related business, as well as giving them the tools they need to be profitiable and progressive in all of their ventures. Continue to improve our city web-site and give our city staff all of the PR tools they need to successfully market our great city.

The key to the success for Fairborn is a positive attitude coupled with an enthusiastic push for responsible growth and development. Businesses want to be a part of a city that works for the betterment of it's citizens. Our city schools and the general appearance of our city are vital lionks to attract businesses. I will work to improve communication and team work with the school board, the Chamber of Commerce and other city organizations.

I would emphasize that Fairborn is surrounded by major universities, hospitals, research facilities, museums, extensive outdoor activities for the family and is home to Wright Patterson Air Force Base. New job opportunties are coming with BRAC and Calamityville. New housing developments are being pursued. New businesses are coming to Fairborn bringing jobs and economic growth. Fairborn has the most nationally certified teachers in the area and the largest elementary school in Ohio.

I would make sure our economic development incentive program puts Fairborn on equal footing with neighboring cities and seek to make Fairborn easy to work with via streamlined processes. We also let people know Fairborn is a full service family friendly community with good schools, effective police and fire departments, and excellent parks. I would seek to have EFBA, Chamber, and Rotary work better together making businesses and people feel welcome from the beginning.

As the wife of a career military man and 40 years in the real estate business, I believe I will bring a unique and important quality to the council. I also have many years of service in our community that will allow me the ability to promote Fairborn, the city I chose to live and raise my family in for 42 years. I believe our fine city has yet to show its full potential.
