One of the biggest issues I face is to get the dispatch center back to Germantown, I have received many concerns about delays when calling the new dispatch center. We have a lot of street issues which need to be resolved. I would also try to get new business to come to Germantown.

| If the recession continues, what impact will that have on Germantown’s budget and what proactive measures should the council be making to assure that essential services continue for Germantown residents? | ||
Currently the recession has not visibly affected the budget due to a well established local tax base, and school system. However, the key to preventing the loss of services is a constant monitoring of the budget, and the development of a strategic plan for the future. We can continue to provide our current level of service through expanding our local tax base by creating a business friendly environment for both our estblished and new businesses.

| If the recession continues, what impact will that have on Germantown’s budget and what proactive measures should the council be making to assure that essential services continue for Germantown residents? | ||
The recession will affect Germantown's revenues through its impact on the monies collected through the village income tax. Whether in a recession or not, I would encourage the Council to develop a fiscally conservative budget that will enable us to build-up our cash reserves. In addition, we will need to monitor our incoming revenues and budget obligations and prioritize expenditures. Village employees may have to accept new responsibilities in order to maintain essential services.

| If the recession continues, what impact will that have on Germantown’s budget and what proactive measures should the council be making to assure that essential services continue for Germantown residents? | ||
If the recession continues, it will impact all levels of government, Germantown's included. We have one project underway, our new water tower which is very costly but a necessary expenditure. We must examine each item in the budget and prioritize every item. In my view, as the recession continues there will have to be less spending in some areas so that we can assure the folks of Germantown they will get a Police Officer, Firefighter or ambulance if and when they need one.

| If the recession continues, what impact will that have on Germantown’s budget and what proactive measures should the council be making to assure that essential services continue for Germantown residents? | ||
A continuation of the recession would likely cause a decrease in revenue. A thorough review of Germantown's finances may locate ways to streamline government functions and reduce expenditures. Police, Fire & Rescue and other essential services should continue to be a priority. To improve our tax base, council must build relationships with local businesses, encourage the revitalization of our historic downtown and seek controlled growth of the Route 4 corridor, while preserving our rural heritage.
