What would you name as the biggest challenge for Wayne Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

Economics and Unfunded Mandates is the challenge. These items will be resolved with time as the economy improves. I believe that the community interest needs to be improved. I have been attending the monthly meeting when possbile since April 2008, and in most cases you can count the number of people attending on one hand. I would like to be the voice of the community at these meetings.

What would you name as the biggest challenge for Wayne Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

Our biggest challenge is fiscal responsibility. During this time of a downward economy and loss of jobs, the Trustees must be efficient and effective. Our local governments must work together and should be willing to contain budgets by sharing resources and manpower. We must spend taxpayer's dollars wisely and be accountable for our decisions. My goal is to be fiscally prudent and have complete dedication to the people of Wayne Township.

What would you name as the biggest challenge for Wayne Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

The biggest challenge for Wayne Township is future growth and development. The trustees must work closely with developers to preserve the rural environment, while at the same time consider the cost of maintaining the infrastructure that will be needed for those developments. Future developments should create enough tax base to finance maintenance of their infrastructure and township provided services, without putting additional tax burden on the current residents.

What would you name as the biggest challenge for Wayne Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

The biggest problems I see concern residential growth and business development. As trustee, I would work to make sure that zoning codes remain updated to control growth in the township, maintain an updated infrastructure, and continue to promote fiscal conservatism. I would also encourage cooperation with the Village of Waynesville by forming a joint economic development venture to attract businesses to our area.
