| The Village of Waynesville is making strides in moving out of fiscal emergency, but residents still doubt the progress. What steps need to take place to get the village out of fiscal emergency and what should council do to involve the community in this recovery? |
Steps have already been taken to start the process. We have cut $300,000 in one year in expenses. Expenses are below the appropriations. We are working on increasing revenue to reduce the deficits. I hope to see more people attend council meetings so that they are aware of what we are doing. |

The Council has taken several steps toward eliminating the fiscal emergency. We are working with the Auditor of State and our objectives are clearly stated for the public to review. We are asking for a 1% income tax on the November ballot. By doing this it will speed up eliminating these deficits. We are continuing to closely monitor our expenditures. Our records are open to the public, and I encourage everyone to review them. |
