What would you name as the biggest challenge for Hamilton Township and what solutions would you as a Trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

The Township’s Infrastructure (Roads and Parks) and Services (Police and Fire) must be able to accommodate the future growth of one of Ohio's fastest growing Townships. I will address this issue by: managing the growth by adhering to the Land Use plan; utilizing the Impact Fees to make Infrastructure and Service improvements; securing State funding for road improvements; exploring options such as Joint Economic Development Districts to bring businesses to our Commercially Zoned areas.

What would you name as the biggest challenge for Hamilton Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

Our Biggest Challenge is the economy and the effect it's having on income. All incoming State and County funds have been cut, but not our mandate to maintain our roads and other community functions. Even with Home Rule, Trustees are limited in their ability to generate revenue. As in the past, my number one goal will be to bring in new business. Economic development is always a challenge, but together, it can be done.

What would you name as the biggest challenge for Hamilton Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

The biggest challenge facing Hamilton Township is landowners leaving the township to avoid unfair $6153 impact fees for a single-family detached home. I intend to use my legal expertise to settle this issue that is currently in litigation, and use the money to support our infrastructure, police, and fire department.

What would you name as the biggest challenge for Hamilton Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

The budget is the biggest challenge, although annexation and impact fees are important, it is critical to understand where they fit into the budget. In my 12 years we have done well with being fiscally responsible and having a "balanced budget". Continuing to use innovative ideals, such as impact fees and escrow accounts helps to keep us from having to ask for levies. In these hard economic times my past experience demonstrates I understand.
