Experience:
Happily married mother who raised two children in Springboro. Owner of That Music Place, a business located in Springboro. As council member, I have served on Tree Authority, Legal Committee, Finance Committee, and I developed the Community Services Board.
If the recession continues, what impact will that have on the City of Springboro’s budget and what proactive measures should the council be making to assure that essential services continue for Springboro residents?

Attracting and retaining businesses is key to keeping revenues needed to keep from raising taxes on residents. I have been proactive in this by attending monthly chamber of commerce meetings and the open forum meetings the city has held with local business owners. The mayor and I were also the only council members (all were invited) to attend the meeting with the lieutenant governor at Cobasys to help keep this very improtant company in Springboro.

Name: John Parise

Incumbent: No

62 years old. U.S. Marine Vietnam veteran, Attended University of Illinois. 31 year Springboro residnet. 35 years as a service tech for Donnellon McCarthy. Missed only one council meeting in my 4 year term.

Should the recession continue, it will obviously affect the city's income tax revenue. The city will have to go into a maintanence mode, and not start any new projects. I have already been proactive by voting no on a resolution to spend $125,000 for decorative rocks at Heatherwood Gold Course. I also voted against spending $5,000 for flags/banners touting the national ranking for Springboro on Best Places to Live in 2009.
