The recession is forcing us all to re-evaluate our budgets. Springboro must take a hard look at budget priorities and concentrate spending on basic community needs and services such as police, fire and roads. Council must attract and support healthy businesses that will contributre to our tax base while maintaining the home-town feel of our community, and also find ways to encourage citizens and non-profits to contribute their time and energy to support city services.

Springboro would see a reduction in income tax revenue if our business or personal employment were to drop from current leveles. The council should explore every option for regional cooperation with the county and neighboring communities to combine services. Sharing resources has proven to be an effective way to eliminate duplication and reduce the costs associatied with them. One example would be our participation in the Warren County Regional 911 call and dispatch center.
