After reviewing the noncompliance findings by the Auditor of State, the biggest challenge for the township is to remain an independent entity. When elected, responding to these findings must be a top priority, as there has been no response regarding previous reports dating back to 2004. The biggest challenge for Lemon Township is to provide police, fire, emergency squad, and road repairs on an ever decreasing budget from local government funds from the State of Ohio and Butler County. Lemon Township needs Federal Funds to assist us to upgrade abandon properties and foreclosures. Lemon Township Trustees apply for block grants each year but the funds keep going down. We will be forced to cut services.
