What would name as the biggest challenge for Fairfield Township and what solutions would you as trustee suggest to meet that challenge?

Providing great police and fire protection without increasing the tax burden is the challenge. We need to move forward controlling spending but provide the new equipment, fire station, personnel to maintain that level of service. When I was your Trustee, the budget surplus grew without raising taxes. We built a police station, fire station, parks without raising taxes. I'll work to increase the number of firefighters and police officers to protect you without raising taxes.

Our biggest challenge is running the Township like a business. Government has strings attached; we need to keep our eyes on the purse strings. When other nearby local governments are having financial trouble, I am proud to say that Fairfield Township is running strong on a full-tank. But, it takes hard work and common sense. I am your 24/7 hands-on Trustee and I know my Township.

Fairfield Township is a “sweet spot” in Butler County. We enjoy excellent amenities and reasonable taxes compared to other areas in the region. The challenge will be to maintain and improve what we have now, while actively managing growth. To that end I plan to promote fiscal responsibility through budget analysis and control. In addition a comprehensive strategic plan addressing current and future township needs must be formulated and implemented.

There are some key issues I would like to address as a trustee. Bypass 4 is about to be widened and the residents along this corridor need to be represented so that special attention will be given to the impact these improvements may have on their neighborhoods. I would like to see sound walls erected along the bypass where neighborhoods run adjacent to the road. The noise levels are already unacceptalbe and the addition of more lanes will make it intolerable. As the township grows I would like to be a proactive voice on how we proceed. I would like to establish an Employee Assistant Program for employees of the township. It is an inexpensive way to assist those who go the extra mile for us every day. We need to eliminate selective zoning in residential areas. Selective zoning does not benefit the community and is an unfair practice. I believe that sticter enforcement of nuisance laws is a proactive approach to law enforcement issues. Addressing those issues, will enhance property values and safety in our neighborhoods. These are only some of the ideas I would present to the trustees if elected. It is time for a new perspective.

As a member of Fairfield Township you should be aware that we are in desperate need of some new leadership. Over the past couple of years the Township has been affected by decisions that the current Trustees are making. We need to change the way the Township funds are being spent and make sure the decisions that are being made are benefiting the township and its residents.
