I have resided in Monroe since 1994. I've been married for 20 years and have a daughter who just graduated from Monroe. I graduated from Miami University as a Registered Nurse and have worked in Health Care Management since 2001.
If the recession continues, what impact will that have on Monroe’s budget and what proactive measures should the council be making to assure that essential services continue for Monroe residents?

The recession could impact Monroe's ability to provide services unless careful planning and budget constraints are implemented immediately. Budgets need to be reviewed to ensure expenses don't exceed revenue. Processes should be scrutinized to ensure government is running efficiently. Forecasting future growth/decline should be considered prior to adding expenditures. Attracting business is vital to increasing tax revenue. Council should revisit ordinances governing small business to ensure Monroe is providing them with every opportunity to succeed.
