If the recession continues, it will not have a positive effect on Middletown's budget; due to the lack of revenue. We will need to take proactive measures in making sure that we can still provide the "ESSENTIAL" services for our residents by cutting back on unnecessary spending, potential pay freezes for administration, making sure that we're sure that we're spending within our means and not putting ourt city into a deficit, etc. | ||

Freeze all city employees wages. Reduce city employee's exceptional benefits. Flexible work day schedule with 16 hour notice of change to reduce overtime. Freeze on new hires. Reduce personal and sick days. No city vehicles used for personal reasons. Fire, Police Chief and Canine officers only use city vehicles to and from work. City water bills, etc. sent without return envelopes. City ordinaces should allocate revenue for infrastructure, not general fund. Reduce Section 8. | ||
