What is the biggest challenge facing Pleasant Township and what plans do you have for solving that challenge?

I believe road maintenance funding is most challenging for Pleasant Township. With limited funding through the existing road levy, the trustees must continue to explore other sources for outside funding. I would like to work with the fiscal agent and other trustees, researching and applying for avialable funding that would continue to enhance the budget for road maintenance in Pleasant Township.

I feel the biggest challenge facing Pleasant Township are continuing road improvements, repairing the newly purchased property to house our township garage, and opening the new sections of Asbury Cemetery. We will continue to work on and repair roads as funds and grants allow. We have already recently added new flag poles, driveways and planted trees in both Vernon Asbury and McConkey Cemeteries. We have recently completed restoration of Neer, Pleasant Chapel and Sivers Road.

The biggest challenge facing any government body right now is making sure that we don't end up like the states, counties and cities that are facing massive deficits and bankruptcy. To do that we will need to spend responsibility and frugally on all township projects. As trustees we will need to implement fresh ideas and ingenuity to continue quality service for our citizens. Fiscal responsiblity and tranaparency is needed now more than ever.

With the current down turn in the economy there will be less money to serve the township. My 32 years of experience in the service business gives me the ability to squeeze every bit of production out of each dollar to continue improvements. Pleasant Township is a community of solid peolle with good values. It is a great place to live and raise a family and I want to help keep it that way.
