Santa arrives at the Dayton Mall Saturday, Nov. 21, in time to join the first lap of the "Give Thanks. Walk." About 250 people accompanied Santa for the 5k walk to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They raised about $18,000 for children's cancer research.

A million plus lights are on display at the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in Hamilton for this year's light show, which opened Friday night, November 20. The display, which took about 7 weeks to prepare for, features lighting displays covering over a hundred acres of land. The light show has been voted the best show in the Tri-state for the past 4 years and runs from Nov. 20th - Jan 1.

There was more than one double-take from drivers at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center parking lot a few weeks ago on a sunny morning. Automotive technology instructor Dave Jessup brought one of his personal projects — a 360-winged sprint car — to school to show his students. Then he fired it up in the parking lot.

Do you feel safe when you're walking alone on a dark, unlit and abandoned street that lacks signs? Of course not. We go out of our way to avoid those situations. Therein lies one of the challenges for people trying to revitalize downtown Dayton.
