Old River Park ready for public

Representatives from Dayton History and NCR symbolically reopened Old River Park to the public on Wednesday, June 3, 70 years to the day the park first opened. The public will be able to begin using the park on Sunday, June 7 and thereafter on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. through Labor Day. A preview party will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.

Truck hits tree, flips

One woman was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with non life-threatening injuries after the pickup she was driving northbound struck a tree and flipped on its side in the 400 block of Brandt Street at Bickmore Avenue in Dayton. Dayton Fire and Police responded to the call at 4:08 p.m. Friday, May 29. The woman was the only occupant in the vehicle.
