SOFAST, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, is a group led by the U.S. Marshals and made up of representatives from various law enforcement agencies. The group's purpose is to serve active warrants, both local and federal, and apprehend wanted fugitives. SOFAST goes on daily roundups from 6 a.m. to noon.

Warren County dog wardens handle about 100 dog bite cases and pick up about 1,400 loose dogs a year. State statistics indicate their counterparts in Greene and Miami counties handle similar caseloads, but only a fourth or fifth their counterparts in in Montgomery County.

Kettering City Schools held an open house on June 2 at 2425 Delta Avenue. The 1,800 square foot Cape Cod house was built by eight seniors and 16 juniors in Fairmont High School's Construction Trades Tech Program. The house is expected to be put on the market this month.
