Semitruck carrying beer crashes
Interstate-70 westbound was closed for about an hour after a semitruck on the ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-70 carrying a load of beer, struck the wall and lost its load on June 27, 2009, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Hospital chaplain retires after 34 years
After 34 years as chaplain/manager of pastoral care for the Children’s Medical Center in Dayton, the Rev. Predmore — known to all as “Bobbie” — retired on Tuesday, June 30. Tearful staffers and volunteers provided the appropriate cake, gifts and touching send-off; Predmore and 14 friends left the hospital in a Hummer limousine headed for Blind Bob’s in the Oregon District.

Water main break closes highway
Photos from the watermain break in the village of Covington this morning on High Street near Rt. 36. Because of the new water plant, no pressure was lost in the village. The street will be open Tuesday evening according to workers on the scene.

Inflatable rolls with kids inside
An inflatable bounce ride obstacle course got loose with children still in it at about 3:41 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Goldman Park in Middletown. One 11-year-old boy was taken to the hospital, and a few other children received minor injuries, according to Middletown police.
