2009 sculptures downtown

A 25-foot tall, 4,000-pound sculpture "King Lear" by J. Seward Johnson is positioned on Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton on Monday, May 11. Another 15 of the sculptor's more life-like, and life-sized works are returning to downtown for the third year and will begin being placed on Tuesday morning. Made with an interior of foam and a hard exterior of urethane, "King Lear" was most recently on display in Key West, Fla.

One injured in car crash

Aftermath from a crash that occurred Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009 in Franklin, Ohio. A gun was reportedly fired from the Shell gas station on East second Street and injured a man in a pick-up truck. The driver then drove East on East Second Street, striking additional cars and eventually hitting a utility pole. The driver was taken by a medical helicopter to a nearby hospital.
