The Atrium at Greene, Inc. formally opens
Hundreds of people poured into The Atrium at Greene, Inc. on Thursday, Nov. 19 for the building's formal Gala Opening, which welcomed staff, clients and their families, and community leaders to the new facility. Construction on the facility began in April and clients are already utilizing the new rooms which include art and music therapy, and multi-sensory rooms devoted to help those with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Elf Christmas Shop closing
The Elf Christmas Shop at 4077 Salem Ave. is closing after more than 30 years in business. The final closeout sale at the shop, which has been at the location for 42 years, will be Nov. 19 through 21 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Rally for jobs held in Dayton
A coalition of local labor and justice organizations held a march and rally for jobs Tuesday, Nov. 10, in front of the Old Courthouse in downtown Dayton. The group was rallying for living wage jobs, job creation, and programs to help the underemployed, the unemployed, and those facing foreclosure.

Local builds Batmobile replicas
Matt Miller, owner of Carl's Body Shop, is in the process of building two "Gotham cruisers." One emulates the Batmobile driven by Adam West in the original 1966 Batman, while the other, pictured, is a replica of the car driven by Michael Keaton in the 1989 movie.

Lebanon McDonald's reopening
Guests visited the Lebanon McDonald's on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, for the VIP reopening event. After three months of construction, the store opened for regular business at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Kalen Gordon and David Blacklock, Installation & Support Engineers for Virtalis, Inc. held an open house on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009. Virtalis is a United Kingdom-based company that deals with Virtual Reality Projections. The company opened up its first U.S. office at 1952 Woodman Center Drive in Kettering.

Steel and concrete were being worked on by Ferguson Construction Co. employees erecting the new 18,000 square foot Koenig Equipment, Inc. building, a new John Deere dealership serving the Tipp City / Troy area in Miami County.
