DECA principals go pink

Principal Judy Hennessey and Vice Principal David Taylor strutted their pink stuff at Dayton Early College Academy on Thursday, Oct. 8 to reward their students' fund-raising efforts. DECA's 392 students raised more than $1,700 for breast cancer research. Danya N. Berry, the high school’s college liaison, said the students raised money in part to honor Nickie Sattler, the school’s director of technology. who is battling breast cancer.

Cancer battle leads to new career

Sally DiMuzio of Morrow, a breast cancer survivor since 2002, leads a Healthy-Steps class Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at The Wellness Community in Blue Ash. DiMuzio is a certified Lebed Method instructor and teaches therapeutic exercise to breast cancer survivors. The Lebed Method and the Healthy-Steps program is designed to improve the overall wellness, range-of-motion, balance, strength and endurance of participants.
