Remembering Michael Jackson

Thousands of fans of Michael Jackson, who died June 25, gathered for a memorial service at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles to be held on Tuesday, July 7. More than 1.6 million people registered for free tickets to the 10 a.m. memorial, which will be broadcast live worldwide. A total of 8,750 people were chosen to receive two tickets each.

Cub Scouts help with flag ceremony

Cub Scout Pack 291, in cooperation with the Miami Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America, coordinates the flag ceremony held at Dave Arbogast Buick-Pontiac-GMC in Troy on July 5, 2009. The flag pole at this car dealership is the largest in the state of Ohio and holds a 30' by 60' flag. Due to the open space along I-75, the flag is changed for repair or mending about every four weeks.
